SET Psychology

Preparation strategy

How to prepare, and in what order.

Prepare for the NET syllabus; practise on your state's papers.

That sentence is the whole strategy, and it follows from how SET is built. The syllabus is national, so any serious UGC NET Psychology preparation is preparation for your SET. But the paper in front of you was set by your state's agency, drawing on its own house style — which units it leans on, how applied its questions are, how much of Paper II is definitional.

What this means in practice

If you are preparing for both NET and SET

You are preparing once. Sit both — NET is national and carries JRF; SET is a second, state-level route to eligibility. The overlap is total on syllabus and near-total on pattern.
