This policy is written to be understood by a sixteen-year-old. If any part of it is not clear, that is a fault worth reporting.
What we collect
When you create an account:
- your name, so we can address you;
- your email, which is your identity here;
- your mobile number, to verify the account;
- your declared study stage — for example "Class 12" or "MA Psychology" — which decides what the site shows you first;
- your password, stored only as a cryptographic hash. Nobody here can read it.
Teachers additionally submit a teaching ID document for verification. Kept for 60 days after the decision, so that a refusal can be explained and appealed, then destroyed automatically. It is used for verification and appeal only — never for marketing.
We never require Aadhaar, and we ask you not to send it. A staff card, appointment letter, department listing or enrolment letter all work, and none of them carries a national identity number. If the only document you have shows one, cover the number before you photograph it — we do not need it and do not want it.
What we never collect
No date of birth. No age tick-box. No gender, caste, religion or income. No exact address. No Aadhaar or any government ID number. No marks or grades. And no health or mental-health information of any kind.
That last one matters on a psychology site more than anywhere else: what you read here is never treated as a signal about your mental health, because it is not one, and because building that inference would be a betrayal of the reason you came.
Why the study stage, instead of your age
The stage is functional — it decides what content you see. It also happens to carry an age signal, which is more reliable than an age box, because people choose their study level carefully and tick age boxes reflexively. We would rather ask one honest question than one that invites a lie.
Your two consents, kept separate
- Service consent is required to have an account. It is the legal basis for running it.
- Personalisation and marketing consent is separate, optional, and withdrawable at any time. Withdrawing it never affects your access to anything.
They are two boxes and will stay two boxes. Bundling them is precisely what the DPDP Act prohibits, and it is also just dishonest.
Advertising
We do not sell or broker your data. Ever.
Accounts at a school stage — Class 11 and Class 12 — are excluded from ad-platform audience uploads and lookalike audiences entirely. This is enforced by a derived internal flag; you never see it and cannot be asked to change it.
Every account, school stage included, keeps full on-site personalisation, recommendations, progress and email.

Your rights
You may access, correct, export or delete your data, and withdraw the personalisation consent, at any time. Ask us and it will be done — see grievance redressal for the contact and the deadlines we are held to.
If something goes wrong
If there is a breach affecting your data, you will be told, and so will the Data Protection Board of India, as the DPDP Act requires.
