What this site is

PsychologyGeet teaches about psychology. It exists so that a student can understand the subject well enough to be examined on it.

What this site is not

It is not a mental-health service. Nothing here is:

No one reads this site's pages as they are being viewed. If you write to us, a person will read it — but that may take a day or more, and this must never be your route to urgent help.

Reading about a disorder is not being assessed for one

Chapters here describe psychological disorders in clinical terms, because that is what the syllabus requires. Reading a description and recognising yourself in it is extremely common, and it is not a diagnosis. Diagnosis is made by a qualified clinician, in person, over time, with information no webpage has.

If something you read here worries you about yourself or someone you know, that is a good reason to talk to a professional — a registered clinical psychologist, a psychiatrist, or your doctor.

Case material

Any case example used in teaching is illustrative. It is not a real identifiable patient, and it is not a template against which to measure yourself.
