This exam qualifies you for Assistant Professor in Karnataka only. It is not a national qualification, and it carries no fellowship — JRF exists only through UGC NET.
Psychology carries subject code 15 here — not UGC NET's 04, and not the code another state uses. Quote your own state's.
UGC's SET Guidelines 2023 require that "nomenclature and the syllabi of SET subjects will be same as those of UGC-NET". Maharashtra and Telangana both state this independently on their own sites, in their own words — it is a national rule, not one state's local choice.
So there is no separate syllabus to study for this exam. It is UGC NET Psychology's ten units, unchanged. A state cannot add or drop one.
The full unit list and topic breakdown is on the SET Psychology hub — written once, because thirteen copies of the same syllabus would compete with each other in search and help nobody.
Any serious UGC NET Psychology material is material for this exam. Where this state differs is not what to study but how it has historically asked it — which is what the previous-year papers section below is for.
