This page works in both directions.
If we have infringed your copyright
Write to ⚠ NOT YET PUBLISHED — this must be filled in before launch. with:
- What work of yours is involved, and enough detail to identify it;
- The URL on this site where it appears;
- Why you believe it is not authorised and not fair dealing;
- Your contact details;
- A statement that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
What happens then: we acknowledge within 24 hours. If the complaint is well-founded, the material comes down. If we think it is fair dealing or that the claim is mistaken, we will say so and explain why, rather than removing material silently.
You do not need a lawyer to send this.
Counter-notice
If material of yours was removed and you believe that was wrong, tell us. A person who did not make the original decision will review it.
If someone has copied our material
Notes from this site are reposted fairly often. If you have found a copy:
- Please send the URL to ⚠ NOT YET PUBLISHED — this must be filled in before launch.. It genuinely helps.
- You are not in trouble for telling us, including if you found it in a group you are a member of.
Downloads are watermarked to the account they were issued to, so a leaked file can usually be traced. We use that to stop redistribution, not to punish a student who was sent a file by someone else.
Bad-faith complaints
A complaint made in bad faith to remove legitimate criticism or competition will be refused and recorded.
